Bing.com - New search enginee

Official logo of "BING"

Until a day, the most popular search enginee as we known is "GOOGLE". We just type "www.google.com", then start to find the information based on the keyword that you entered.

Now here has a new contemporary search enginee which is provided by Microsoft called as "BING". Bing is a web search engine created by Microsoft that replaces Live Search. Unveiled by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer on May 28, 2009, at the All Things D conference in San Diego, Bing is a replacement for Live Search, and will go live worldwide by June 3, 2009.[1]

Notable improvements in general searches include the addition of related searches (called "Explorer pane" on the left side of search results) based on semantic technology from PowerSet, a search company Microsoft purchased in 2008, search suggestions as you type, and the ability to keep track of your search history.[2]

The homepage of BING will always be changed
by daily. (dragged from wikipedia)

Sounds are great, rite? Now let us see how it is after the time it has been launched.

Politic: The darkness day of Malaysia

One Black Malaysia: Democracy first, elections now

"One Black Malaysia: Democracy first, elections now" is a parody on Mr Najib's "One Malaysia: People first, Performance Now" slogan. It was introduced by activist Wong Chin Huat. The 1BlackMalaysia campaign was to be a peaceful, yet powerful message of 'civil disobedience'.

Nevertheless, is BN has any different with Gangster within this a few years? How do you feel after you read the news shown as below?

Is it suppose to be done by a government who was previously promise on "Democracy" in independent day (1963)? BN, please stop to play this kind of silly and foolish game!!!

Do you know you are the worst in the world? Wake up please.. F***er

Facebook VS Friendster: Who is a winner?

During this weekend, I have made a research on Facebook vs Friendster in Malaysia and here's is the interesting information.

1. Alexaholic Rankings (it always be updated on time)
This ranks the traffic websites get from Malaysia. Note that Facebook is the 5th most visited page ahead of Friendster (only No. 7). This has changed much from the 2008 news release from Friendster which was in the Top 5 most popular sites. Facebook has overtaken them in these past 6 months.

Of course, Alexa is anything but accurate in Malaysia, but still...if Friendster used to go around telling people they were top 5 on Alexa, it's news that right now, they aren't.

2. Facebook Increasingly popular in Malaysia (31 March 2009)
This story in March reveals Facebook receiving a 14% sustained growth in Malaysia month-on-month. This means, in Feb 2008 Facebook received 500k visitors, but in February 2009 it received 2.4 million. That’s monumental growth.

At my conclusion, Friendster is, by number of accounts, the biggest but it’s trending down in terms of activity (measured by traffic). A quick dip-stick survey on Twitter reveals that most significant online people in Malaysia prefer using Facebook over Friendster.

This reference is from BBC.co.uk

Earth Hour in Singapore 2009.

At 8pm on the 28th March 2009, millions of people in some of the world's major capital cities, including Melbourne, Manila, Shanghai, Toronto, New York, Copenhagen, Singapore will unite and switch off the power for Earth Hour.

This year Singapore will be part of this global effort organised by the WWF to attempt at making a statement in energy conservation. Apparently MacDonald in Singapore do it in a big way this year by going as far as switching off all the lights for 1 hour. The efforts in 1 hour on 1 day reduced Singapore's energy consumption by 10.2% for 1 hour, which is the equivalent effect of taking around 48k cars off the road for 1 hour.

Earth hour is not the only such effort in the world where you have Light out of America in various cities in the US and Candle Night Project in Japan and Taiwan.

Now Singapore's government is calling for more people and businesses from Singapore to be involved in Earth Hour and get them to turn off their lights for 1 hour at 8.30pm, 28th March 2009. In fact, their efforts even appeared in the press today!!! So dont surprised when the light of Singapore's Suntec City is going to turn off. There's no black out. It's Earth Hour.
